AHL forward Brandon Gignac score goal of the year, with one of the craziest moves we’ve ever seen

We’ve seen some unique and remarkable goals in the NHL this year. Connor McDavid has produced several goals of the year candidates with his high speed, dekes, and superb finishing. Trevor Zegras has scored lacrosse goals and even a lacrosse assist.

But Brandon Gignac, a forward for the Laval Rockets in the NHL, might just have scored the best goal of the year last night against the Toronto Marlies.

Gignac came in a rush and deked out a defender before he suddenly and unexpectedly sent the puck straight up in the air. The puck went past the defenders, but Gignac had control as he chopped the puck mid-air with just one hand.

The puck went past the goalie, and for a simply great goal in the top shelf. This might be one of the craziest and most creative goals we’ve ever seen.
