Alexander Ovechkin reveals amazing conversation with his son after scoring his 800th goal, it was just perfect

Alexander Ovechkin is just one goal shy from tying Gordie Howe for second all-time on the goals list. Earlier this week, Ovechkin grabbed a hat trick in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks, making him just the third player in history to score 800 goals in the league.

Ovechkin is now on the hunt for Howe, and he’s now just 94 goals away from tying Wayne Gretzky for the first of all time. When Ovechkin scored his 800th goal, it was in Chicago, and the Blackhawks fans all joined in the celebration as they threw hats onto the ice and chanted his name.

Ovechkin was also celebrated with a classic beer shower from his teammates when he came into the locker room.

As he scored his 800th NHL goal away from home, the Capitals fans still hadn’t gotten the chance to celebrate Ovechkin for his historical goal mark.

During the game, the Capitals honored their hero with a nice video tribute, and he got a standing ovation from the fans.

Alex Ovechkin didn’t score any goals and have to wait to tie Gordie Howe on the goals list. But Ovechkin’s achievement this season is still incredible.

To score 20 goals in 32 games as a 37-year-old is nothing but amazing, and even his family is surprised by how well he’s doing. Now, he reveals a hilarious conversation with his son, who couldn’t comprehend what he’d just done.

Ovechkin’s response was just perfect.

“My son ask me today, ‘Dad, how did you score three goals in Chicago?’” Ovechkin said, per reporter Samantha Pell.

“This my job,” Ovechkin told him.

Alex Ovechkin is just too great. What a player, and what a perfect response!
