How to watch the Chicago Blackhawks in 2026-27

Blackhawks games are on Chicago Sports Network, and the thing Chicago fans still ask about is the one that happened last year: you can no longer watch with an antenna. CHSN ended its free over-the-air simulcasts in June 2025 as part of the deal that got it onto Comcast. Here is what the season costs now.

Where is CHSN?

Comcast Xfinity on channel 200 in the Ultimate tier, with a regional sports fee; DIRECTV; DIRECTV Stream; AT&T U-verse; Astound; Fubo; and the smaller Illinois providers. Two notable gaps: CHSN is not carried on DISH or on YouTube TV.

Can I still watch free over the air?

No. CHSN dropped its WJYS channel 62 simulcasts at midnight on 9 June 2025 as part of the Comcast carriage deal, ending free antenna access in Chicago, Rockford and South Bend. If that is how you used to watch, you now need a television package or the CHSN app.

What does the app cost?

$19.99 a month for the Blackhawks alone, or $29.99 a month for all-access, which adds the Bulls and White Sox. There is a seven-day free trial, and the app is free if you already have an eligible pay-television login. No annual or season-pass price has been announced.

Where are Blackhawks games blacked out?

The territory covers the Chicago market, most of Illinois, north-west and central Indiana including South Bend and Indianapolis, and parts of Iowa and Michigan. Milwaukee and Wisconsin receive Blackhawks games only, not the other CHSN teams.

Who calls the games?

Rick Ball on play-by-play, who replaced Chris Vosters ahead of last season, with Darren Pang on colour. Pat Boyle hosts, with Tony Granato and Caley Chelios in studio. On radio, WGN 720 carries all games with John Wiedeman and Troy Murray, and Charlie Roumeliotis on pregame and postgame.

When do the Blackhawks play?

Tuesday 29 September, away to Vegas, at 9.30pm Central on ESPN. The home opener is 6 October against St. Louis. Seventeen games are on national television.
