Lukas Dostal made 21 saves

Lukas Dostal’s 21 saves and .955 save percentage earned him the second star of the game. The now-tied series heads to California for Games 3 and 4, with the first matchup set for Friday night at the Honda Center.
“That’s not our tradition, playing that type of game — a low-scoring affair. But we’ve shown stretches of it over the course of the season, particularly lately. This is the only way you’re going to be successful in the playoffs. You have to win games like tonight. I think we showed that it’s going to take everybody to play that type of game,” Anaheim Ducks head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters after the game.

Wholesome reaction

After the game, Lukas Dostal spoke with the NHL on TNT crew, where Henrik Lundqvist was part of the panel. When Lundqvist asked Dostal who he looked up to as a young player, the Ducks goalie gave an adorable answer.
“When I was growing up, I looked up to the guys on my hometown team in Brno. But once I got older, I was actually watching you,” Dostal told Lundqvist with a huge smile on his face.

Fans online absolutely loved the response and the fact that Lukas Dostal couldn’t stop smiling.
“Dostie fangirling hahaha love it,” one fan wrote on X.
“What a beautifully done interview. You could see all of them were enjoying the moment. And Dosty had his fair share of fanboying too,” another wrote.
“I love moments like these,” a third fan chimed in.
