Insider’s claim could see Brady Tkachuk in a huge trade

The hockey podcast What Chaos has made a wild claim—one that could lead to a huge trade where Brady Tkachuk ends up playing with the Florida Panthers, if the Panthers get a high draft pick this summer.

The Florida Panthers have appeared in three consecutive Stanley Cup Finals, winning the last two. However, this season, it looks like they will miss the playoffs.

Brady Tkachuk to the Florida Panthers

With 13 games left to play, the Panthers sit 14 points outside of a playoff spot. Should they miss the playoffs, it would be the first time since the 2019–2020 COVID season, when they lost in the playoff qualifying round. It would also give the Panthers a chance to secure a high draft pick for the 2026 NHL Draft. According to the What Chaos podcast, such a pick could put them in position to pursue a trade for the Ottawa Senators captain Brady Tkachuk. Matthew Tkachuk, Brady’s older brother, was traded to the Panthers in 2022 and has made a significant contribution to the team’s success in recent years. Both brothers have also expressed how much they enjoy playing together on Team USA.

”They could trade…”

DJ Bean on the What Chaos podcast believes it makes sense for the Panthers to pursue Brady Tkachuk.
“They could draft a star, get a young player. Who wouldn’t want Stenberg? Who wouldn’t want Keaton Verhoeff? Or they could do something else. They could trade that pick for Brady Tkachuk. We’ve reached a place where a Brady Tkachuk-to-the-Panthers move could happen. The Panthers have 15.5 million dollars in cap space this offseason. If they make that trade, they would still have 10 million dollars in cap space,” he said on the podcast.
