The Tkachuk brothers chirp Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl

Team USA claimed Olympic gold against Team Canada thanks to an overtime winner scored by Luke Hughes. After the victory, the notorious Tkachuk brothers posted a photo on social media taking a playful—but pointed—jab at both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

For Matthew Tkachuk and Brady Tkachuk, the win means they can finally bring an Olympic gold medal home to the family trophy cabinet. Their father, Hall of Famer Keith Tkachuk, earned only a silver medal during his career, coming from the 2002 Olympics.

Brady recorded five points during the tournament—three goals and two assists—while Matthew contributed six assists. After the gold-medal game, the brothers celebrated with their teammates, but they also made time to chirp McDavid and Draisaitl once again.

Took a jab at Connor McDavid too

Earlier in the tournament, Matthew was caught on camera yelling “always a bridesmaid, never a bride” at Draisaitl during USA’s matchup with Germany. An apparent reference to the two Stanley Cup Finals Draisaitl lost with the Edmonton Oilers to Matthew’s Florida Panthers.
Following the gold-medal win, the brothers posted a photo on the social media account for their podcast, Wingmen. The image depicts a wedding scene: the bride’s face is covered with an American flag, the bridesmaids’ faces with Canadian flags—except for one bridesmaid, who has a German flag covering her face.

Fans are divided

Fans are now divided over the photo. Some find it hilarious; others consider it unsportsmanlike.
“Not a great look since Brady is flying back to Canada’s capital… Maybe he should fly to the US and stay there instead if he hates Canada so much,” one commenter wrote.
“Way to keep it classy…” another added.
“Ruthless. Love it!” a supportive fan said.
“Too soon… JUST KIDDING!” a fourth chimed in.
