Lost to USA
The tournament itself ended in disappointment, as Team Canada lost the final to Team USA, 4–3. The American team included players such as Ryan Suter, Zach Parise, and Ryan Kesler. Despite the loss, Getzlaf still has fond memories of the tournament.
Ryan Getzlaf brutal prank on Sidney Crosby
Being two years older than the young but extremely talented Crosby, Getzlaf decided to have a little fun with him, along with Jeff Tambellini.
“Jeff Tambellini and I rolled Sidney Crosby up in a mattress, taped it all up, put him in the elevator, and sent him down to the lobby,” Getzlaf says in a video.
Crosby and Getzlaf later played together for Team Canada on several occasions, winning two Olympic gold medals.
