Beckett Sennecke chirps Tom Wilson with three words

Beckett Sennecke is having a great rookie year in the NHL, but he is still sometimes surprised by how different certain aspects of the league are compared to junior hockey. When asked about the physicality of the NHL, Sennecke gave a perfect answer that sent reporters into laughter.

The 2025–26 rookie class is extremely talented, and many of the players have already become key pieces for their respective teams. For the Anaheim Ducks, Beckett Sennecke has established himself as an offensive force to be reckoned with, recording 35 points in 46 games so far.

Gave the perfect response

But like all rookies, there are aspects of the NHL that can come as a surprise. The speed, the skill — and the physicality. After last night’s 3–1 win over the Dallas Stars, Sennecke spoke to NHL on TNT about the game and how his first season in the league has been going.
When asked whether he has had a “pinch me” moment so far, Sennecke delivered the perfect response.

Beckett Sennecke chirped Tom Wilson

“I’ve taken a couple of heavy hits. The guys are pretty strong. You get winded, then you’ve got to go back to the bench and you’re struggling to breathe. But I haven’t been killed yet, thankfully — though I’m sure it’s coming,” Sennecke said.
Anson Carter then asked if there was any particular player whose hit had surprised him.
Tom Wilson — he’s a scary guy. Nikita Zadorov too. They’re just mean people out there,” Sennecke said with a chirp that made the studio laugh out loud.
