Matt Rempe levels Tom Wilson — fans are loving it

Matt Rempe of the New York Rangers has made a name for himself as a tough guy who doesn’t back down from anybody, making him a huge fan favorite in New York despite only having played 63 NHL games. Last night, he delivered a massive hit on the Washington Capitals’ Tom Wilson — and fans are loving it.

Matt Rempe and Tom Wilson are both known as two of the toughest players in the NHL right now. Even though the Rangers and the Capitals play in the same division, the duo has yet to drop the gloves against each other. In 2024, Wilson challenged Rempe to a fight after he had gone after Wilson’s captain Alexander Ovechkin, but Rempe declined.
