The all-time jokester Paul Bissonnette has done it again. During the broadcast of the Vegas Golden Knights’ opening night, NHL on TNT premiered a music video from Bissonnette dedicated to Mitch Marner, who was traded from the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Knights this summer — and fans are loving it.
Ontario-born Mitch Marner was selected fourth overall by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2015 NHL Draft. But after nine seasons with the Leafs without making a deep playoff run, Marner and the team parted ways this summer. Instead, Marner signed an eight-year deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, worth an annual salary of 12 million dollars.

”Not much thought at all”
Marner’s departure had a big impact on die-hard Leafs fan Paul Bissonnette, the prolific broadcaster and podcaster. During yesterday’s season opener for the Golden Knights, Bissonnette took part in the NHL on TNT broadcast. As a consolation, he was given a Vegas jersey with Marner’s name on it — but that didn’t seem to help. When asked how he felt about the Marner situation, Bissonnette responded:
“I haven’t given it much thought at all,” he said, looking up into the air.

The camera then cut to a music video featuring clips of Marner’s highlights from Toronto interspersed with shots of Bissonnette — dressed in a Leafs jersey — singing to Marner.
Fans absolutely loved the prank:
“Haha! Biz is a gem,” one fan wrote.
“Biz is the best thing to hit TV,” another commented.
“Great singing,” added a third.
