Erik Karlsson reveals details on his injury which will have fans stunned

Erik Karlsson is set to return to the Senator’s lineup tonight. But the Swede reveals that he never will be fully fit again.

After starting the season a solid 3-0-2, the Ottawa Senators will see their captain Erik Karlsson return to the lineup Tuesday evening against the Vancouver Canucks (1-2-1).

Karlsson hasn’t played since the playoffs last season and is amped to return to hit the ice for his first game this year.
“It’s going to be amazing to get back out there and play again. It’s never fun to be injured, but the team has been playing well in the first couple of games, so that has helped,” Karlsson told Swedish media outlet Expressen.

“Have to get used to..”

The Captain is certainly correct in saying Ottawa has been playing well lately. The Senators have picked up points all 5 of their games to start the season and currently sit 2nd in the Atlantic Division.

Missing some time away from the rink plants thoughts into your head, but Karlsson is trying to focus and have a clear mind going into the contest.
“I will never fully recover, so we have to see what my new standard will be after I’ve played for a while. I just have to not think about it”, Karlsson told Expressen.

He believes his foot will feel different, but it’s just something he’ll need to get used to.
“I haven’t played for a while, so I don’t know how the foot will react. But my foot has healed enough so I can play. But I probably have to get used to the fact that it will feel a bit different.”, he said.

Karlsson recorded 54 assists and 71 points last season.
