Fans absolutely furious after cheap hit in pre-season game; Wild prospect went down bad

Hockey is finally back, but we’re still a few weeks away from the NHL season. However, teams have now started to play exhibition games, and there’s always mixed feelings about it.

On the one hand, it’s great that the new season is upon us, and many also think it’s fun to see players who usually don’t get to play when the real season starts.

But many also feel it’s pretty dull to watch teams play without their core group and star players, and there’s always an injury risk when playing games. Usually, pre-season games don’t have the same kind of intensity, and teams tend to be nicer against each other when there’s no real point in winning or losing.

But when the Minnesota Wild played the Colorado Avalanche this weekend, the Wild’s Daemon Hunt went down badly from a nasty play from Avalanche forward Tanner Kero.

Hunt skated behind the net while his eyes were on what was happening toward center ice. Suddenly, Tanner Kero came from the front and made no effort to get out of the way. His elbow made direct contact with Hunt’s face, and the Wild forward went down immediately.

After some help from the physician, Hunt could skate off the ice with a teammate by his side. It’s unclear for how long Hunt will be sidelined, but it sure didn’t look good, and fans were absolutely fuming over Kero’s nasty play.

”Terrible cheap hit,” one said.

”It’s too early for this,” another said.
