Coyotes Score Strangest Goal of the Season

Somewhere in the world, Cam Ward is still thinking about that own goal from last night’s tilt between the Carolina Hurricanes and Arizona Coyotes.

As the puck rimmed around the boards and behind the goal, Ward went out to corral the puck and play it. Unfortunately for him, the puck became lodged in his skates. Unsure of where the puck went, Ward quickly skated and dropped down to his knees inside his crease. Unbeknownst to him, as his skates went over the goal-line in the net, so did the puck.

Hopefully, Ward has a great sense of humor because that will be played for many years.

We’ve seen many own goals over the years, and you have to feel for Ward in this situation as he was doing what he was taught. Thankfully for Ward, the Hurricanes would go on to defeat the Coyotes 6-5.
