Rene Bourque Lays the Boom on Carl Klingberg in Preliminary Match up

Rene Bourque tried to set the tone and style of Canada in their preliminary game against Sweden, a game the Canadians won 4-1.
During the contest, Bourque skated at full speed to drop Carl Klingberg. Bourque said that the team “wants to be hard to play against.” He added that “We (Canada) might not have the most skill…that’s the way we’re gonna have to go forward…”

Head Coach of Canada, Willie Desjardins, thought the hit was great and it helped turn momentum in favor of Canada.

Canada opens their tournament against OAR (Olympic Athletes from Russia) on Wednesday.
