Igor Eronko is an NHL.com contributor to their Russian website, and he is reporting through sources that Kovalchuk is looking to stay 2-3 years at least in the NHL.

What team will he play for? Well, according to Eronko’s sources, Kovalchuk is set to sign with the New York Rangers. New York finished this season with a 34-39-9 record and were sellers at the NHL deadline.
If this is correct, this will be Kovalchuk’s 3rd NHL team. Kovalchuk finished this season in Russia with 63-points in 53 games.
